Before you build

What to look for.

  1. 01

    One arm or a pair?

Learning setups often pair a follower arm with a leader arm you move by hand. Check whether the maker’s cost covers one arm or both.

  2. 02

    Actuators set the ceiling

Hobby servos keep a build affordable. Check the documented actuators, reach and payload before you plan a task around them.

  3. 03

    Software before shopping

A ready LeRobot, ROS 2 or MuJoCo setup can save weeks. Look for calibration and teleoperation code, not only CAD.
